Recently, our oldest son and I put in a paver patio.
The first row (the one along the side of the house) went in perfectly – super snug, and not a bit of room to spare.
As we moved away from the wall, though, the width shrank ever so slightly and it became harder to fit in the pavers. By the time I took this picture, I was grinding off some of the paver and pounding it in to get it to fit. It was not pleasant.

We were stumped for what to do, and presented the (above) picture to Claude.
The first idea that came back? Just take out one of the little rectangle pavers and distribute the extra space over the whole width.
Ah, yes.
I am often guilty of this in my own schedule… pounding in that next task or the next responsibility. It should fit! It must fit!!
Letting enjoyable and/or meaningful tasks go can be difficult… and even time-consuming. But we are not meant to pound in pavers.
